Known as the ” Father of Modern Bhutan”, our Beloved Third Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuck not only ushered in significant social, political and economic reforms in the country but also secured the country’s sovereignty and security at a time when the countries in and around the world were expanding their influence and control over others. We can never thank enough to have been blessed with such a visionary and farsighted King.

At home, the late His Majesty’s birth anniversary is also celebrated as the ” Teacher’s Day” recognizing the critical role teachers play in one’s life.
As we celebrate this auspicious day, we continue to look upon the teachers to fulfill their part. A teacher’s influence is so profound that we can never guess where it ends.
With this humble thoughts, may I join the nation in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers- from those who introduced us to the first alphabet to the ones who made us get a glimpse of the reality of our existence.
